Hi.P.A. is a medium-bodied groove with a fresh and fruitful nose of tympanic temptation. It begins and ends with a big hop bite that is itself forever balanced on the brink by a steady rhythm of malt. Dry-hopped for extra quenching in the face of heat and beat, it’s an ideal accompaniment to chilling out, turning inward or sailing onward through the music of the night toward the dawn of the mind. It’s the liquid way to say be here now lest you never come this way again.

12 oz. bottle, best by May ’09. Poured in a G.I. IPA tulip. Pours about the same brown color as the bottle. A bit of hop leaf or two at the bottom, and a rocky head with some lace atop. Smell is of earthy English hops, rather restrained at this moment. Taste is a different matter. Slightly thick malt sweetness coats my lip. Dry hopped bitterness up front, still a nice peppery European/English hop blend instead of piney northwest hops. I know this is off the style for some, but this seems to be a great new interpretation.

Appearance: Copper in color, creamy white head.
Taste: Sweet citrusy malts.
Overall Impression: I really do love IPAs, but this one is nothing special, what you would expect from a brewery like Magic Hat.

This IPA poured a dark yellow colour with a fast dissipating rocky white head. To the nose there is scents of pine, grass, pineapple, lemon rine and a little yeast. First taste was smooth and at first was a nice even flavour of hopps. As it progressed the hopps became very potent. Almost getting acidic but not to an annoying level. Finish is bitter with flavours of lemons and grass. Very good.

Golden-bronze. Spicy hops with a hint of florals and bready malts. On the palate, these malts provide firm backing and have a noticeable toastiness. The hops are more subdued, with a moderate bitterness. The character is spicy, with light wood and orange peel. The finish is balanced and off-dry. Burps with a spicy hop character.

Bottle. Pours amber with a medium sized head. Very nice lacing. Mild hops in the aroma. Hops take a while to materialize out of the sweet goopy malty mess. This one is muddled and all off-kilter. Too bad.

I can remember a time when I didn’t like IPAs. Oh, that was many moons ago! I’ve finally come around. This brew is damn tasty. Definitely worth a try. Deep orange hue with a nice head. Good taste, nice alcohol content - what more could you want? Plus, the artwork is pretty trippy...man. It is fun to admire and those who see you holding it are likely to remark, "Whoa, cool artwork on that one!"

bottle - Pours lightly hazy gold with a medium sized white head. The hoppy aroma with a hint of citrus is pretty mild. The flavor, while also hop dominated as one would expect, is a bit milder than I expected too. This light bodied beer is true to the IPA style and certainly drinkable, but also quite dull.
