Can at home from the local off license. Very clear blond colour. Big white head that fades quite quickly. Aroma, there is a hint of 'the hop'. Maybe a touch of lemon, bit grassy. Some fruit too, maybe peach or orange. Surprisingly good for a macro. Taste less exciting. Hint of the hoppiness, but quite sweet. All in all, not bad.

Tall boy can on the Bullet Train. Somewhat nice hop aroma, citrus, some grass. Better nose than the rgular, but not exactly stimulating in this era of huge dry hopping. Hop flavor also comes through a bit better than the regular Yebisu, but I think they also cut back on the bittering hops, so it both tastes and finishes too sweet. Ok.

Slightly cloudy (not really much) golden coloured body with some honey tints trying to come out, all with a nice dense off-white head - looks better than most pales. Aroma of malt, rice, cardboard, vinegar and a very faint note of metal. Light-bodied; Slightly bready, malty note up front with a good complex malt flavour - way more so than typical beers of this style, with a lingering sweetness at the end (caster sugar) and some slight twangs of metal. Aftertaste shows some class for the style and a little bit of good complexities, but nothing enticing or drawing you back. Overall, a pretty typical beer, but given this style for this one, it’s better than most, but that isn’t saying much at all. I figured it would be somewhat hoppy due to the name, but there isn’t anything hoppy about this at all. I sampled this 33 cL? can purchased from CitySuper! Grocery Store at 2 IFC, Central, Hong Kong on 10-August-2010 sampled at home on the other side of the world at home in Washington on 05-April-2011.

Can. pale amber with a white head. Sweet hay aroma with some earth and herbs. Quite sweet with a little toast; smoothly bland with a kick of aromatics and decent bitterness. Sweetness begins to tell after a while.

Found @ CitySuper, Tsim Sha Tsui. Sampled sitting on our Kowloon rooftop. Golden colour. Light hop aroma is grassy and herbal, the malt element of the aroma is a bit doughy. Not much for bitterness. Vague hop spiciness. Accent is on slightly toasty malts. OK macro gimmick.

Canned. Bright golden, airy head. The aroma has mostly a general fruitiness. It’s sweet and fruity with industrial limp mouthfeel and sloppy body. The very slight resiny hops cannot breathe life into this artificial product. Fruit and resin combines in a mushy unpleasant finish.

A golden lager wth a thick frothy white head. A surprisingly hoppy resinous aroma, with light floating esters, veering in Saison territory. In mouth, a crisp malt with sustained German hops, a bit of sweetness, herbaceous. Medium bodied. 500 mL can shared rom probstk, May 26 2009.
