Sampled at Zythos 2016. Thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours black, small white head. Smell is roasted malts. Taste is full, bitter, sharp, roasted malts. Bit sweet, very creamy. the barrel made it more complex, and i’m sure most people will prefer this, but I actually prefer the basic one.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Joes. Opaque dark brown to black color, average to medium sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, roasted malts, firm bitterness, but also a light sweetish liquorice thing in there, more liquorice, also some liquorice bitter, a hint of oak and iodine. Finish is lightly smoke and again firm roast and bitter. Quite fulll bodied but not highly alcoholic, so that’s well done, just like the beer I’d say. Well done.

Sample @ Zythos’16, courtesy of and shared with the RB Belgian crew. Brune foncée, voire noire, col fin beige.

Sampled draft @ ZBF 2016. (Thank you for sharing RB people!) Great improvement over the original Sans Pardon, this one & the whole Pure Oak series pretty much just proves that all beers should be Barrel Aged. Black, little tanned head. Nose is roasted malts, low oak, tad gravy. Not bad, taste is much lovelier, sweet oak, big vanilla, thick sweet hazelnut, instant coffee, herbal, touch licorice but the oak adds lots of vanilla, sweetness, hazelnut. Faintly grainy body. Oak sweetness really lifts this beer up, very nice.

23/IV/16 - tap @ Zythos Bierfestival 2016 (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2016-392) Thanks to the BE RB crew for sharing beers today!

Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: fantastic! Sweet, vanilla, dried fruits, some soft roasted smell. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, vanilla, lots of caramel, crème brûlée, bitter hops, pretty roasted. Aftertaste: hoppy, very fruity, bit sourish, vinous, vanilla, roasted, chocolate, some ripe banana and banana peel. Lovely stuff, this beer!
