White Stout is the ultimate beer in our "White Range". While the word "stout" has come to mean a dark beer, the original meaning was strong and true. Before the porter brewers commandeered the word to mean a stout, or strong, porter it referred to any strong beer.
We have rehabilitated and improved the genre. White Stout is a very pale, full bodied, strong beer. American columbus hops are used throughout to give massive floral and resinous character.
At a strength of 7.2% this is a true stout. Indeed, few modern stouts of any colour are true to the word for strong.

(bottle) Hazy, golden colour with a big and blond foamy head. Yeast-spicy and herbal, slightly grassy hoppy aroma with delicately fruity spots, hints of iodine and a strawy malty touch. Bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a modest carbonation. Delicately bready malty base with drying herbal hops from the beginning, lingering into the bitter and discreetly sweet malty finish with a dangerously muted alcoholic strength. Nice try as a hoppy & pale strong Ale, but the term “Stout” is a bit irritating. 26.IX.13

Fra flaske på Cardnaltreff sep-13: mye såpeskum her! Gylden strågul. Lite humlearoma, men snev av alkohol. Bitterheten balanserer alkoholsødmen og -styrken, men denne ølen mangler egensmak. NondeScript ville kanskje en engelskmann sagt. "Massive floral and resinous caracter" iflg bryggeriets egenmelding. Tørr ettersmak. Kanskje verdt et nytt forsøk. Nytt forsøk på Mi2, Cardinal feb-16: lett syrlig, frisk og god. Den fine bitterheten er preget av appelsinmarmelade og mandler. Opp fra 2.7 til 3.2

Big white head. Slightly hazy coppery body. Sugary floral aroma with herbal notes, fairly faint. Dry-sweet peppery dried fruit taste with licorice and spice notes. Mid-bodied. Fizzy, sharpish mouthfeel. Dry fruity spicy peppery aftertaste with oily coriander notes. White stout? More like a Belgian trippel. (0.5l bottle, from House of Trembling Madness, York.)

500 ml bottle @ Delirium, Brussel. Clear, deep golden body with a moderate sized off-white head. Aroma has malt, bread and grassy hops. Flavor is smooth malty, biscuit, toast, light fruity and medium bitterness. Medium body with sweet and bitter aftertaste. Decent, but I don’t really find anything close to a stout here. Like a strong golden British ale with good bitterness.

500ml bottle - was intrigued with the term "pale stout", but this is very much like an IPA with its citrus heavy hops in the nose and the taste, the body though comes across nice and oily like a deep stout. Nice lasting finish by the way. Tidy.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012, London. Pours clear gold with a big, virginal white foam head. Doughy malt nose. Boozy flavor, some toasted white bread, bitter leaves, grass. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Light warmth at the end with some grass, alcohol sugars, white bread. Doesn’t really come together.

(Bottle, 0.5 l, at Pikkulintu, 20120929) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had hops, malts and cowhouse. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, hops, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. The aroma was quite confusing at the beginning but the cowhouse smell disappeared quite quickly. The taste was surprisingly dry and hoppy. Not bad.

Bottle 500ml. @ chriso s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2012.Clear light to medium yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, floral, dry grass. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity, malty, hoppy, roasted - chocolate malt (the beer is pale) !! Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120804]
