The Indie Ale is characterised by a clear amber colour and a very compact creamy head.It displays a surprising balance between the abundant hoppiness and the use of malts.
The citrusy notes, typical of the hops used, live side by side with the sweeter undertones of the malts and with the caramel sensations which slowly mix with fruity, tropical and citrusy taste given by the abundant hoppiness. The finish reveals a surprise bitter taste tending towards a very delicate herbal feeling, which is not at all intrusive and invites the drinker to take their lips straight back to the glass to enjoy another sip.

Bottle, Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Amber pour with a meek white head. Nose of fruity hop and caramel. Quite lively carb. Earthy bitter flavour with some sweet malt and a vague metallic tang which lets it down a tad. Drinkable but no cigar.

Good dense yellowish head over fully hazy orange-amber beer with faint pink sheen. Impressive hopnose of rosewater and exotic fruit, plus oranges and strawberry. The aroma persists in the mouth but much more subdued, fade . Bitterish, fruity, finish with a bit tannins, metallic. Warming up, gets a faint spicy, curry-like finish. (Hop)oily, slick, medium bodied, well-carbonated. Coarse bitterness keeps hanging around in the throat. Mmmm. Not bad, but the nose promised more fireworks.

Aroma is sweetish with strawberries, malty notes and resin. Flavour has hops, resiny notes and berries. Too much berries but not bad anyway.

Bottle courtesy of sebletitje, the 33cl bottle pours clear copper with a tall light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a little pine hops, a little roasted malts and some mild sweet sugary maltiness. The taste begins with an initial mix of roasted malts, a touch of tart malt astringency and pine hop bitterness. To midway it gets a dash nutty and estery while the pine hops are joined by slivers of citrus. Overall this comes together pretty well. I’m enjoying this.

Bottle from Trafalgar Wines Brighton. Hazy amber thin beige head. I can smell the american hops from here which is a good sign. Resiny aroma. Yes lovely sweet grapefruit. Quite rich. But enjoyable enough. Yes tasty and a good beer in my book in that I wld have been pleased to have brewed it

Bottle at a ChrisO tasting, London. Pours cloudy amber with a sturdy, frothy white cream head. Toasty malt nose, some wood, toasty hay, too. Medium sweet flavor, some leaves, ripe orange. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish with dusty citrus and pale malts. Decent.

26/XII/12 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: XII/13 (2012-1400)
Cloudy amber to rusty red brown beer, big creamy yellowish head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, pineapple, passion fruit, lychee, some citrus, piny, little chemical. MF: soft to no carbon, medium to light body. Taste: fruity start, citrus, grapefruit, some peaches or peach candy, then very bitter. Aftertaste: very bitter and dry ending, medicinal. Smells better than it tastes, but not too bad for a 5.5% IPA (if you call it Indie Ale, I call it IPA).
