One of our first beers – Atak Chmielu is an insanely hopped AIPA. Red-copper in color, full-bodied, with a bunch of citrus in taste and aroma. Citrus, floral, resinous, piney, fruity – thanks to the American hops! It has been brewed on 28th of March 2011 for the first time ever and became the very first AIPA brewed in Polish commercial brewery. This is how Polish beer revolution has started!
Ingredients: water, barley malts: pale ale, melanoidin, Carared®, Carapils®; hops (USA): Citra®, Simcoe®, Cascade, Amarillo®; yeast: SafAle™ US-05.

8 October 2021. At Mo.Bar, Poznan. Cheers to the lovely Anke!
Hazy dark amber, stable, frothy, tan head. Aroma of rusk, peanut, biscuit, pink grapefruit, mango, orange peel, pine resin, red apple. Taste has sweetish orange & mango, bitter grapefruit, pine & citrus peel over biscuity, peanutty maltiness, bit herbal. Piney & resinous hoppy finish, quite bitter thanks to grapefruit peel & spicy notes. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Really nice classic IPA.

Frothy off white head stayed on an unclear dark amber body. Minimal aroma of malt & pine - seems quite typical of Polish beers from my experience. Medium bodied, lively with a cloying back. Confectionery, resin, bitter hops & herbal tastes with a grapefruit & pine finish. Excellent!

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 14/01/21. Clear golden amber with a decent off white head. Nose is malt forward, orange peel, melon, tangerine, grass, toasted malts. Taste comprises caramel malts, grass, light pine dusting, orange zest, melon, grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close layered with leafy hop bitterness. Ok old skool leaning IPA.

11/1/2021. Bottle sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours clear amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, malt, pine, biscuit, touch of spice. Moderate sweetness, medium plus bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Quite bitter throughout, but it mellowed nicely to finish. Quite ok.

Bottle: Poured a caramel orange with a bubble off white head. Aroma is fruity, citrus, malts. Taste is citrus, bitter hops, but is quickly over powered by malts.

330ml bottle via Beer52; BB 9th Nov 2021. Drank at home on 20th Dec 2020 after a wet dog walk! Dull amber body, slight haze; beige head that stayed around for a while. Aroma seemed more piney than citrusy to me, the beer is hop bitter but there is also a solid malty base. Liked it.

[33cl bottle from Beer52.] An attractive dark amber pour with a tight cream head; piney aroma; smooth and slightly syrupy in the mouth with a rich burnt caramel body and a gentle resinous pine bitterness that goes on and on. Really reminiscent of a fresh Californian IPA - I wish I was there right now.

Bottle from Beer 52 At first I didn’t think this was “insanely hopped”, just nicely bitter. But it grows on the taste buds, really strong and bitter hops like cough medicine. There’s a hint of marmalade, but otherwise no sign of the dreaded citrus. To go back to the start, there is oranges, marmalade and pine in the aroma, and it pours a bright copper with a decent off-white head. Finish is dry and bitter. I can’t really fault this as a traditional IPA – s-s-s-superb !
