Beertopia 2014 #3. Pitch black with tan head. Hoppy roasty aroma. Very nice hoppy bitterness to balance out the roasted bready flavor. Unexpectedly great stout from Boxing Cat

Draught @ CBC2013. Pours blackish brown with a frothy mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is malty and tiny fruity with roasted mallets, espresso coffee, cocoa powder, dates, prunes, soil, hay, burnt cookies, caramel, charred wood and hints of peat. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, high quality dark chocolate, moist soil, charred wood, hay, burnt caramel and hints of peat and salty licorice candy. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny roasted astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is bitter and malty with roasted malts, espresso coffee, high quality dark chocolate, burnt caramel, peat, salty licorice candy and hay. Solid smooth Imperial Stout.

Tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours dark brown with a beige foam head. Burnt wood in the nose, some burnt cocoa. Moderate sweetness, plenty of bitter chocolate, good roast. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Dark chocolate to finish, light earthy bitterness, more burnt barrel. Not bad, really. Some dry dark fruits in there, too.

CBC. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is dry and crisp. Roasty dark malt, touch of lactose. Rich. Finishes dry. Decent if a bit one dimensional and dry.
