A classic bottom-fermented doppelbock. A style that is highly lacking in the Netherlands. A beer with classic malts (including an oatmeal twist) and classic German hops. Tastes slightly like liquorish or even salmiac.

Draught (PINT Bokbier Festival 2015, Amsterdam) - Dark brown in colour. Raisins, marzipan and blackcurrant in the aroma. Fruity taste with raisins, chestnuts, blackcurrant and plums. Very easy to drink considering the abv.

Hazy brown with lasting head. Musty aroma but also with something perfumey about it. A strange one.

Tap @ derat, medium sample. Slight hazy dark brown color, medium frothy head. Aroma of farmers cheese, sweaty socks, roast, caramel, butterscotch. Quite roasty in taste, bit chocolate, biscuit, caramel. Quite tasty, but the cheesy notes in aroma are a bit weird. Not off-putting though.

250 ml. draft @ Becoloth. Very dark brown, nicely lacing tanned creamy head. Nose is a bit odd, sweet herbs & powdery mocha. Tate is thin mocha, syrup, touch light herbs, lots of powdery sweet mocha, caramel, light red fruits. Body is a bit thin, very powdery, lightly creamy. Overall odd but enjoyable enough. Doesn’t entirely work, should have been thicker I think.
