Adatta all’invecchiamento.

THANK YOU RB PEOPLE! Sampled draft @ Hoppy Days! Black, creamy tanned head, lacing. Nose is sweet chocolate syrup, artificial chocolate, jam, low licorice bitterness. Taste is cheap chocolate syrup, licorice, blueberry, some bitterness but not much. Cheap chocolate body. Chocolate etc. taste a bit cheap but its pleasant, some neat blueberry & licorice interplay. Decent bitterness.

Draught at Hoppy Days, Amsterdam. Sticky, light beige, stable, creamy head over a black beer with chestnut brown edges. Aroma of espresso, bitter chocolate, grapefruit peel, bayleaf, black pepper, cured meat, hazelnuts. Umami-like onset (dried porcini) with only a very subdued sweetish hint, soft carbo, smooth, creamy mouthfeel, caramelly malts quickly overpowered by a strongly coffeeish roasted bitterness working well together with peppery and grapefruity hoppiness, a bit resinous and even somewhat black IPA-like, lasting for a long time. Uncompromising and elegant at the same time - this is one truly great beer.

Keg at CBC Clerko - London. Pours clear, dark brown with a creamy mocha head. Lots of charred malts in the nose, burnt cereal, coffee grounds, milk chocolate. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with good boozy oomph, lots of burnt wood and bittersweet chocolate, some earthy bitterness, leather, defied fruits. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, pretty well balanced, with further burnt and drying wood, bitter cocoa, earth, old leather. Not bad overall. Pretty drinkable gear.

Craft Clerkenwell. Keg. Opaque black - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy, smooth and semi dry. Good fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts. A light barrel aged woody sweetness vibe here but the pumpclip says nothing about it being fhe barrel aged version. Trace of cocoa. Mild dark fruits. Some malt cream before a fairly dry finish. Light for it’s abv and quite tasty.
