Part of the Calambic series, Central Valley Breakfast Sour is aged in used wine barrels for one year with the finest fruit from the Central Valley of California. It is a bright and beautiful golden sour with an abundance of fresh pressed white grapefruit juice. The tart beginnings are rounded by the lusciousness from the pears and the delicate, exotic perfume of the lychee fruit. A pleasurable ale to enjoy with brunch or anytime of the day.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden orange, small fizzy beige head, dissipates pretty quickly, some lacing. Aroma is quite stone-fruity, oak tannins and light barnyard funk. Flavor is light plus tart, very light funk, some Brett notes, oak tannins, lemon. Medium body, soft carbonation. Minimal vinegar presence. Quite nice.

12 oz. bottle. It pours a very pale yellow/orange color with a fizzy white head that shrinks within a minute. The aroma is very nice with balanced notes of grapefruit, orange, lemon, pineapple, white wine and subdued funk. The flavor is a bit different with strong notes of Kaffir lime, lemon verbena, lychee, grapefruit and a good dose of lactic, lemony sourness that brings the mouth water and pucker. Subtle vinous, funky barrel notes add good complexity. High level of acidity with a light, effervescent mouthfeel. Another awesome sour from High Water. Keep em coming Steve!
