Tap. Hazy golden color with small soapy head. Aroma is cheesy feet, some green apples. Quite sour finish. Taste is cheesy feet, minerals. No carbonation. Interesting.

Sample from bag in box. Apple juice colour, tart, green apples, barnyard. Funky lambic. Sour, lemony notes. Not a bad one.

Cask @ Flemish Foodbash, Koksijde.

Glass at In De Verzekering Tegen De Grote Dorst, the De troch 03/2014 was a honey gold with a tart lemon aroma. Med-full bodied with a slick mouthfeel. The taste is tart acidic lemon with some cork. Tasty, easy sipping.

Draft at In De Verzekering Tegen De Grote Dorst, where it was recommended to me and my company after the masses had left the premises - cheers to Kurt Panneels for this, one of the proprietors of this renowned lambic pub. Shows a few loose bubbles of air but these expectedly vanish in instants, leaving a flat, light orange golden blonde beer, clear with a fine and airy ’dust’ of yeast suspended in it. The expected estery and animalistic, rural complexity of old lambic rises up from the glass: menure but in a good way, passionfruit, fermenting mango and gooseberry, dry sherry, sour milk, wet wood, yoghurt, artisanal cider, horse sweat. Dry sour flavour, with a kind of ’sedate’ lemon zest ’zing’ to it, sour cream, smooth, very fruity, sweetish barley somewhere, soft but drying woody tannins in the finish, with strongly persisting sourness. I had to take an antacid pill after this one - and seven others - but it was worth the pain, glad I tasted this.

Bottle shared thanks to Caesar. Pours hazy golden with a ring white head. Aroma is light funky, a little urine, citrus, a little dank. Flavour is light acidic, a strange meaty touch coming out in the palate. Light to medium bodied with flat carbonation.
