Location: Draft at the brewpub, 7/16/14
Aroma: the nose has some grapefruit/citrus, some caramel, and a little butterscotch
Appearance: The pour is an amber color, some off-white head, and some light lacework
Flavor: The taste is much the same, decent hop notes, malts, and a bit of sweetness
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, with an okay mouthfeel, average carbonation
Overall Impression: This one wasn't a favorite for me. It is a solid enough example of a style, but just not one that quite hit the mark for my expectations.

Tap at Revolution Brewing, Milwaulkee Ave, Chicago. Poured a clear light amber with a thin broke white head. The aroma is hoppy with a hint of melon. The flavour is medium bitter with a liqourice hop zesty spice caramel palate. An interesting pale ale.

Tap at Revolution Brewpub, Chicago - 04/11/12. Clear dark amber with a thin off white head that soon clears to a pond and the edges of the glass. Nos is hops, light pine and grapefruit. Good pine and hop combo, bitter grapefruit and some citrus notes. Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a bitter finish. Tasty APA.

A lightly hazed golden amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, smooth butterscotch malt with light resinous hops, not bad. In mouth, a smooth biscuit malt with light British hops, but some cloying butterscotch notes. On tap at brewpub, Nov. 11 2011.

5 oz mini nonic pint sample at the brewery in Chicago, Illinois. Pour is darker copper, clear with an off white head. Aroma is pretty faint, I get spice and floral, touch of dank but pretty subdued. Taste picks up with nice resin hop, some caramel malt, perhaps a hint of iced tea in the back. Palate is medium bodied, dry clean finish.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a clear orange-amber color with a medium foamy off-white head that burns away slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter citrus hops character backed up by sweet malt and toffee. The finish is hoppy with a lingering citrus aftertaste. Above average Pale overall.

Draft taster, June 7. Darker than the Best Coast IPA, almost brown, with a thicker, spongy head. I could not get a hop smell through, for some reason. Instead something like fresh river water??? No idea why I should be so discombobulated. Then I got a taste of chocolate on my first sip. Then some fruitiness on the way down. Don’t why, I’ve just gotta call them as I see them. Still nice.
