This high quality traditional mead is made in small batches with great care for English Heritage by the award winning Lyme Bay Winery.

Mead is probably the oldest known alcoholic drink and was much loved by Vikings and revellers at Medieval banquets.

Banquet Mead is an easy drinking honey based wine with a mellow golden colour and subtle aroma. This refreshing drink is a popular tipple throughout the year and is a perfect choice for any celebration.

Drain poured nothing at this point. Shig's cider/mead shindig. We discussed what was more, a hint of spice or soft spice. Strangely, the soft spiced variant had less spice. Anyway... Clear, pale, still pour. Cloying honey, doughy sweet nose. Sweeter than than the Heritage, less spice, less complexity, more basic sweet cinnamon than anything. Kinda okay.

Bottle, 75cl. It’s a clear straw colored mead, oily and still. The aroma has a weird herbal, fruityness, with some honey and a touch of bark. Spiced notes too. It’s medium bodied, oily, smooth as hell and without carbonation. Fruityness, honey, flowers, grass hints, herbal notes and bark in the flavor. Some alcohol hints too. Rather short finish. A bit dull this one, but the aroma and flavor profile is quite interesting. 210813

Fra 0,75 flaske, i hyggelig samvær på to meters hold med seremonimesteren og trekkspilleren: klar, lys gylden med herlig aroma og smak av lynghonning (pluss et streif av søte epler, kanel og muskat).
