950ml Crowler from Brass Castle. Golden colour, white foamy head leaving lacing and fruity yeasty aroma. Taste is sweet malty, some caramel, toffee and saffron with tart, yeasty, tangy bitter notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry yeasty finish with residual sweetness. Quite OK.

Keg @ Leeds Beer Festival 2016. Clouded bright amber-gold in colour. Very fruity in both aroma and taste with a stated sweetness in this respect. There’s a bit of a fizz in the palate too.

Keg at Inn Deep. It pours lightly hazy golden-orange with a small white head. The nose is sweet, spicy, grainy, toast, cereal and earth. The taste is toasty, grainy, hay, straw, cereal, underlying sweetness, saffron, stone fruits, melon and honey with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Perhaps a touch sweet, but not bad.

Tap at Port Street Beer House, Manchester. Hazy gold colour. Minimal, white head. Barley sugar. Mandarin. Hint of medicine or, according to the Missus, dentist’s gas and air. Taste is ripe banana sweet, emphasised by the very light carbonation. A light spice comes through near the end. Off dry finish. A fine beer, although a bit sweet at the beginning, for me.
