6/6/2020. Sample courtesy of the SHIG, cheers! Pours dark amber bronze with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, peaty, whisky, wood, malt, toffee and some booze infused dried fruits. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Nice warming smooth whisky cask finish, not always a fan of such beers but enjoyed this one.

Bottle courtesy of the legend that is Peter Fowler (cheers Peter!). Consumed at home Friday 21st June 2019. Pours dark conker brown with a haze. A little nutty, drinks impressively easy for the high abv. Sweet with some alcohol soaked dark sponge and brown sugar. I was expecting more from this, it's fine but if truth be told it is not totally my thing.

500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Feb '19, courtesy of Mike. Pours hazy dark brown, sparse off-white bubbles atop. Aroma is cakey dried dark fruits, cocoa, nutty. Taste is markedly sweet, good whisky presence, fruit cake, nice balance of flavours. Very good.

Cask at Station House, Durham. Deep brown colour, no lasting head and aroma of dried fruits, orangey. Taste is mellow, leathery malt, biscuit, some dried fruity notes, and boozy, whisky, grassy. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, earthy boozy finish. Nice complexity, very drinkable.
