Milk sugar in your stout is like cream in your coffee. Just enough sweetness to keep the dark roast in check. Rich and robust, our classic Milk Stout exhibits notes of dark chocolate, freshly brewed coffee, caramelized sugar and roasted malt.

Black body, tan head. Rich, creamy palate; however, not as creamy as some other milk stouts. Good flavor and aroma, definitely worth trying. Good starter for anyone trying to get into milk stouts.

At Black Iron Burger, NYC. Pours black with medium beige head. Malty, chocolate, lactic, some coffee, quite sweet. Low carbonation, bit thin on body. Expected more really.

This pours from 12oz bottle a very dark brown with a large billowy tannish head of foam. That soon breaks down to a few islands in the middle and it has some lacing.
The smell has some chocolate notes but it mostly smells like a lager.
The taste on first sips has some chocolate and roasted malt flavour with a bit of hop bitterness and fruitiness in the background.
Further sips in and the flavours I mentioned seem to subside and the brew becomes kind of watery though the finish is on the bitter side.
The mouthfeel is pretty thin on this one and the carbonation is low.
Bottom line: This is just an average example of the style and though I'm glad I tried it, I wouldn't bother seeking it out again.

Wow! Schönes dichtes Aroma und trotzdem süffig. Toll!

[7/17] Can. Pretty close to black with a mid tan head. Aroma of mocha and singed sugar. Just shy of medium bodied, soft rather than smooth. Tastes as it smells. Not too sweet with some lightening grassy bitterness. Straightforward, pleasant, harmonious - everything it should be. [6374 14 = 3.4]12/17 Nitro can. Smoother texture but doesn't hang together as well - creamy mochas never settles and seems greasily sweet before an abrupt swerve towards grassy bitterness. [7263 13=3.2] Averaging score.

Can at Rose and Thistle, Frimley. Sweet choc and coffee aroma. Roasty. Dark with cola tints. Creamy beige head. Served overly chilled so that probably reduced its impact. Bitter high notes with a sweet creamy core. Coffee, chocolate and lactose. Thick. Oily/creamy. A fizz of carbonation. Low key finish. Not cloying like some. Enjoyable.

Pours virtually black from the bottle and leaves a tan, creamy head. Aroma is roasted coffee, chocolate, heavy cream. Taste is milky sweet, nutty, uneventful. Finish is short and lightly sweet. Body is medium and silky smooth. Not bad.
