28/8/2020. Bottle from M&S Martlesham Heath, courtesy of Kev. Pours dark amber / copper with a large frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, nut, malt, biscuit, fruit, slight apple notes and initially a bit metallic. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Quite rich and flavoursome, scoring well above average supermarket branded beer.

500ml bottle, BB Feb 2020. Drank at home on 5th Dec 2019. Amber to copper coloured body, off-white head which lasted a while. Malty molasses in the nose and taste, mixed fruit bowl flavours too. Liked it.

A good pour with a reasonable head. No real nose, but the taste was really metallic and I found it quite off-putting. Whether this was the beer or just me I do not know, but it was very not enjoyable and spoilt the beer for me.

Fluffy white head stayed on a still, chestnut coloured body. Spicy dark berries & malt aroma. Medium bodied. Airy in the mouth with a tingle down the throat & a cloying aft. Caramel & malt tastes to the fore followed by berries, biscuit & a long bitter finish.

Bottle at home picked up from Watford M&S. A clear reddy copper coloured pour with a lasting frothy beige head. Aroma is mineral, flint and rusty nails, nutty twiggy malts. Flavour is composed of thin brown bready, twigglets, chalky, mineral, big metallic rusty penny. . Harsh and pretty terrible. Palate is thin, chalky, mellow carbonation. Not good.

Bottle from M&S, Manchester. Clear copper-coloured with a thin head. Has a grainy-malty character with a hint of chocolate. A bitter with a lowish bitterness.

Bottle. Bought because it was half price. Nose is biscuit, caramel, berry yeast. Taste is perfectly matched to the nose caramel, berry, yeast, hint of grass. Painfully ordinary, certainly not worth the full ticket price.

Clear, coppery amber colour. Messy, nicely sticky, off white head. Nose has burnt toffee. Stewed stone fruit. Some grassy hop (as advertised). Sweet, biscuity malts. Taste is light, fruity, toffee sweet. Some fruity, slightly earthy bitterness. Decent mouthfeel. Dries up a little. Light, earthy, grassy bitter finish, with some of that toffee sweetness sticking to the lips. Nice one.

Bottle. Deep amber in colour, with a thin, off-white, head and a trace of carbonation. Rich, malty, aroma with some brown sugar and hedgerow fruits. Flavour had caramel and raisin sweetness, ripe grains and a lingering, bitter, finish. Good.
