A multidimensional beer brewed with Tim Anderson (headchef of Nanban and Masterchef) and feautures miso, walnuts, chokeberries and Sake yeast. Tastes of chocolate and toast are mixed with earthy flavours. Umami and savoury qualities build and are balanced by the tartness of juicy chokeberries. Tropical Mosaic hops boosts those fruitier notes whilst Sake yeast gives a subtle botanical edge and dry finish.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Matteo. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. The nose holds some ripe berries, hearty bread, impressions of cocoa, red grape. Light sweet flavour with a light plastic note, more berries, earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with some leathery berries, earthy hops, burnt toast. So so.

Opaque black beer with a thin, lively head. Smells of creamy chocolate, some tangy fruit and nut. Flavour is altogether drier and more bitter. Bitter malt, sourness from the chokeberry which lingers into the aftertaste, something else in there I can’t quite place as well. A tricky one to judge because there’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just not really to my taste.
