Small beige-tan head over deep black-brown beer. Both alcoholic/warm and spicy-peppery/hot . Very spicy nose, definitely suggesting heat in any meaning. Dry-ish stout flavour with only a faint peppery feel and sweet, indeed pumpkin-like backgroundflavour. Character gets a typical speculoosspices profile with an extra pinch of chili. Quite well-bodied feel, good carbonation, faint spicy heat. Sweet, but good.

Pours a dark brown colour, almost black with a beige creamy head, stays long and nice lacing. Grainy, coffee and roasted malts aromas. Very mild roasted malt taste and not really feeling the pumpkin part of it, nor the spices usually found in these brews. Hints of dark fruits, coffee and chocolate. A little burnt malt lingers, but all around, just a wet, easy drinking porter.

This Porter poured a deep black colour with a dark tan coloured head. Scents include pumpkin, allspice and cream. First sip was smooth with roasted pumpkin flavour with the usual added allspice flavour. As well as a nice coffee flavour too. Finish was roasty with a tiny bit of hop bitterness.

Imbibed at the Only’s East vs West Beer from Here to Here event. The raft of pumpkin brews out there is a little silly. This one actually turned out well balanced instead a spice shit storm. This is a solid porter with a nose of molasses a little pumpkin and some clove. Taste is similar, toasted malt, molasses, there is the clove in there . Nicely done Porter with some Pumpkin.

(Draught at Bar Hop, Nov 1 2013) Pours black with a small pale brown head. Aroma has sweet chocolate malt, some pumpkin, roast, and a fairly large helping of cinnamon and clove. Flavour is dark malts with a sweet core, slight cooked pumpkin but big notes of clove and cinnamon, dry roast, slight vegetal hops. Finish is bitter, little sweetness remains from the malt, spice lingers. Body fairly light, the carb a bit high. Bit too heavy on the spice, not big enough a porter body to back it up and I like more pumpkin in my pumpkin beer.

A deep dark porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, light chocolate with loads of pumpkin spices, cloves, ginger and cinnamon. In mouth, a sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of cinnamon and cloves, cloying and unbalanced. Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest 2013.
