’Sterkins dubbel Ale: S5L3F1T4O10 Big chunks in my glass from the stuff on the bottom of the bottle. Look, I like yeasty sediment but these are actual chunks of dried looking dark dirt. Has a fairly good aroma, sweetish trappest perhaps. Ice tea color with no head. Creamy carbonation but it’s barely there. Starts off interestingly dubblish rubbish but in a good way. It is a modest alky and all, but then this nifty lemon or lime appears for a nano-second followed by perhaps some old partially dry fruit flavors. Finally it finishes with rather flat old country mouthfeel. Not much hop bitterness in this brew, if any. There are many other better dubbels.’

Aroma of caramel and refreshing yeast and fruits. Hazy dark amber color with a very reluctant white head. Thin in body with very smooth carbonation. Flavor of dark malt, though not all that sweet, and attenuated stone fruits. It drinks like thin cola, not too sweet, and not too bitter. It drinks refreshingly. There are lots of hints. The finish is somewhat astringent. There’s some metal. Not sure about tea, but there is something that suggests it. I’d drink this anytime.

Pour is a cloudy brown with a tan head. Aroma is hard to come by. Some molasses and a big helping of alcohol is about all i get. Flavor is nothing great as well. Some dark fruit but nothing else. Kinda watery and bland.

A brown ale with big flocs of yeast, and a thin white head. Rather bizarre aroma of sulfur, and yeasty malt. In mouth, licorice hits right away, with a honeyish malt, but again, its rather short in mouth. Bottle is about 2 years old also.

1.5L bottle-pours a white head with cloudy yellow color. Aroma is yeasty. Taste is yeasty, wheat, a bit estringent, alcohol. Enjoyed with Ken from Pt Pleasant @ Hvywt open house.

Clear Mahogany body with a creamy smallish head. Aroma is doughy, yeasty, with a flowery honey note. The flavor is sweet but needs more complexity to back up the aroma. Not as good as the Trappists or smaller micro Abbey style Dubbels.

This beer has an oddly light body for the style, being clear copper with a thin off-white head. Toffee, caramel, and raisin/prune aroma. Fruity, toasty flavor with cherry, caramel, toast and vinous flavors. Without the vinous kick at the end of the sip, this is almost reminiscent of an English porter. Really doesn’t have many typical Belgian characteristics. My rating here is not contingent on the listed style.

Nice colour, and a good smell. The beer tasted bland and noth worthy of a dubbel ale. Not strong, with the taste profile of a lager! Maybe the bottle was kept in bad conditions, but other tasters had similar things to say about it!

Light amber color. Head disappears quickly but left a lace on the glass. Heavily carbonated. Scent of hops. Unpleasant metallic taste that disappeared as it warmed and was replaced by a pleasant herbal taste.

Explain to me again why this isn''t bottle conditioned? Pours bright copper - yikes! Caramel, earth...really simple malt profile. Little bit of vanilla, plastic, vaguely chewy finish. Empty.
