(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, amber colour with a beige and short foamy head. Sweet oaky malty aroma with present notes of bourbon vanilla, butterscotch, subtle dried-fruity accents and hints of booze. Moderately sweet flavour with a whiff of tartness, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Toasted malty base with pronounced oaky vanilla flavours and caramel, combined with a mildly fruity touch, getting slightly tart towards the moderately sweet and slightly alcoholic finish. 0.33 l bottle from ’Braukunstladen’ at 8.8% abv, best before December 2016. Clear, dark red with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Pleasant but not too intense, sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, molasses, vanilla, some plums and hints of oak. Rather sweet and malty taste of caramel, molasses, lots of vanilla from the bourbon, plums and a touch of oak, followed by a short, slightly bitter, soft warming-alcoholic and a little oaky finish. Medium to full body, creamy to oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Nice dessert beer, not too intense but really well-balanced with a good touch of bourbon and oak.

*Bottle from Craft Beer Kontor, Hannover. The beer starts sweetish with caramel and chocolate. The whisky-barrel is there - the wood is soft with vanilla hints, fitting nice into the picture, but the ground-beer is not too complex. A bit heavy with edges, rough with alcoholic hints. But in total it is nice, drinkable with a nice woody vanilla aroma behind the slightly sweetish chocolate Bock.

Fra flaske på rbhd-treff hos Sigmund, juni-15: lys, upusset kobber nesten uten skum. Aroma av kokte rosiner og alkohol. Karamell, bourbon og vanilje i smaken. Varmer godt i magen.

Shared 330ml swingtop bottle at local tasting. ABV is 9.8%. Orange to amber colour, low white head. Aroma of molasses and alcohol. Warming mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, alcohol, malts, raisins and bourbon. Heavy heavy fuel - but nice.

Bottle.Clear amber colour with no head.Aroma is strong of vanilla and mild malty,feels overall a bit thin and sweet to be a Doppelbock and no taste of Bourbon at all thin body and odd flat finish.
