Stingy Jack is our Spiced Pumpkin Ale, perfect for these Autumnal nights closing in and the coming of Halloween and Thanksgiving. We used a load of spices at the end of the boil as well as roast pumpkins glazed in maple syrup.

The label is designed by our Art Director Nick Dwyer and shows a drunk old Stingy leaning up a wall outside his local pub with the Devil hanging off his back.

Stingy Jack is now out in 330ml bottle and 30 litre kegs.

Bottled (from AbM). Slightly hazy deep amber colour, small white foamy head, that leaves good lace. Aroma is pumpkin, some spices and mild floral notes. Flavour is pumpkin, some spices, mild floral and sweet malty notes along with some slight alcoholic sweetness. Actually this was a very pleasantly balanced pumpkin beer, where pumpkin is evident enough, but not overly strong.

Bottle at home in London. Pours perfectly clear amber-gold with a frothybwhite head. Big cinnamon kick in the nose, pumpkin bread, nutmeg. Light to medium sweet flavor, further autumnal spices but fairly restrained, light alcohol, dry bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with more pumpkin bread, light astringency, pumpkin seeds, nutmeg. Decent.

Bottle from Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Given the long list of ingredients, this beer tastes and looks just how you’d expect. Spicy egg custard. In a bottle.

Bottle shared at Dadsgiving, from ABM, 24/11/13. Hazed dark orange/amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is pumpkin pie, spiced fruit mix, caramel, floral notes. Taste pretty much follows, sweet spiced fruit mash. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light pumpkin spice in the closure. Decent enough pumpkin affair.

(Draught at Euston Tap, Euston, London, 20 Nov 2013) Amber colour with frothy, white head. Malty, spicy nose with ginger, pumpkin, cinnamon and dried fruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of ginger, dark fruit, cinnamon, pumpkin and a balanced spicy bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Close to going over the top, but really tasty and well made pumpkin beer. Nice one.

330ml bottle. Hazy amber colour with rather late awakening, small, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Typical pumpkin aroma, hints of spices, definitely clove and cinnamon. Taste is identical, additionally hints of ginger and nutmeg. Very well balanced, perfectly autumnal, superb Pumpkin Ale.
