Lively straw-yellow beer with a thin head. Citrus hop aroma. Flavour is an initial hit of tangy citrus but then there’s a strange, flat and almost metallic flavour which follows. It’s a shame because it’s this which lingers mostly in the finish and comes close to spoiling what could have been a really nice beer. As it is it turns it into a fairly average one.

330ml bottle. Clear orangey golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Pale malty aroma with a fruity touch of pear. Taste is dry hoppy with a fruity touch of pear, grainy, strawy background; bitter, strawy finish. Light and slightly watery.

330ml bottle from Sourced market, St. Pancras. Pours a nice golden yellow, good thing white head. Goes downhill from there. Aromas are fuggles hops, biscuit, blackcurrant liquorice sweets. Very thin, slightly sweet finish. Not that impressed.

33cl bottle. Appearance - golden, with gentle carbonation and a nice creamy but thin head. Nice lacing. Nose - liquorice going into crunchie bar. Taste - biscuits, bitter malt finish. Palate - light in body and texture, astringent finish. Overall - not great - would say this was a bitter rather than a pale ale.

330ml bottle from Morrisons. Pale gold with a fast fading white head; pleasant malty aroma; soft carmale taste with a touch of honey, and a fresh earthy bitterness; giving a decently bitter finish. Pretty good stuff.

330ml bottle at home. Not as earth-shattering as the label description makes out. Fairly bitter, hoppy pale.. fresh tasting. Not bad I guess.

Bottle from Morrisons. Clear golden body with a thin white head that fades. Average carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of basil and metal. Flavour is herbs, earth and faint green hops. Hint of metal and vinegar. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft carbonation. Not the best - sharp, bland and metallic.

330ml bottle, drink-in at Sourced Market, St Pancras. White head with fine duration and good lacing. Bright golden body. Grass and pale malty nose. Mild citrus taste, lightly spiced. Subdued bittersweet tail. Oily palate. Average but well worth drinking (London 03.07.2013).

Bottle at Beer Rebellion, Crystal Palace. It pours golden yellow with a medium-large white head. The nose is earth, grainy, light spice and coleslaw (weird I know). The taste is earth, dough, straw, hay, dull spice and a touch of sweet lemonade with a dryish finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not much to it really and what there is ain’t great!
