Bottle split at Travlr tasting @ Chriso, 30/09/15. Lightly hazed golden blonde with a decent off white cap of bubbles. Nose is white pepper, citric peel, grain, straw. Taste comprises lemon rind, pepper well evident but less intense than the nose, hint of vanilla, grassy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok for style if a little 1D on the pepper front.

Bottle shared in London at chriso’s in honour of Gene. Pours unclear gold with a creamy topping. Lots of cedar and white pepper in the nose. Medium sweet flavor with sugary wheat bread, dry and spicy cedar, more pepper. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet, with more pepper and cedar, some hay, black pepper. Novel stuff.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden body with an immovable off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma of white pepper, cloves and crushed biscuit. Flavour of grass, chalky wheat and peppery spice. Very dry. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Would pair well with a cheese board, I think. Classy bottle.

Bottle from trade with McTapps, many thanks Sabine. Deep golden color with huge white head. Aroma of malt, peppers, rice. Taste, light malt, oranges, white pepper, bread, notes of chilli (?). Long hot peppery finish. Bit weird, but I liked it.

Sampled from bottle @ Leuven Innovation Beer Festival. Hazy yellow color, huge white head. Smells horrible: puke and rotting plants. Taste is less bad but it sucks as well. Meh.

0,33 l bottle from Hagener Fässchen, best before 30/4/2016. Hazy, golden yellow with a huge (little gusher), foamy, stable, white head. Intense, grassy-spicy aroma of pepper, citrus, orange and hay. Grassy-spicy taste of hay, citrus, orange and pepper, followed by a long, very peppery and slightly bitter finish. Thin to medium body, foamy mouthfeel, lively carbonation. This is a real pepper bomb which needs a bit of familiarisation. It is drinkable but I’d prefer the pepper to be a bit more subtle. Apart from that, I think that the warning by Hennes’ Finest that the first batch is a gusher is a bit over the top as nothing even went out of the bottle.

33cl bottle. Fresh smooth beginning. Nice Witbier-aroma with an interesting peppery hot finish. The aftertaste is mild Witbier with nice and peppery aftertaste. Hints of yeast and coriander. Interesting.

Gut! 10/10/9/9/10/10
