Bottle at home, 30th January 15. Big head, normal IPA colour, aroma of coffee and hops. Taste is good quality coffee, hops in the background. Nice drink, and different

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy amber. Bubbly, sticky, white head. Don’t get much, if any, coffee on the nose, although its very earthy. Some juicy, orange hop. Some strawberry too. Taste is very earthy bitter. Pretty dry. Full, oily palate. Long bitter finish. It’s a decent IPA, if a bit muddy. Very drinkable, mind.

13/XII/14 - 33cl bottle @ Dijleschuimers Bierproeffestival (Kessel-Lo) - BB: n/a (2014-1506) Thanks to the Antwerp Zythos crew and others for sharing beers at the table!

Clear orange beer, creamy white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very nice sweet fruitiness, caramel, sweet malts, some ripe banana, very pleasant! MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of coffee, weird, bit sweet, malty, caramel, some citrus. Aftertaste: more coffee, weird, bit musty. Very large contrast between aroma and flavour. Disappointing because of that.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo. It pours hazy amber with small yellowish head. The nose is sweet, earthy, toasted brown bread, spice, caramel and dull coffee. The taste is bitter-sweet, wood, earthy roast, light caramel, some acidity, underlying coffee notes, baked goods, orange rind and grapefruit with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. I have never been 100% sold on this style. Leave the coffee for stouts. Saying that it ain’t too bad, just not as drinkable as I would like.

Craft Tottenham Court Road. Keg. Lightly hazy gold - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is airy with fine carbonation providing a nip.. Smooth light malts bring thin creamy sweetness. Hops are a nice mix of mildly sweet floral skunk and mellow orange and orange marmalade, tiny bit of pith. Coffee is pretty sparingly used, it’s really quite a subtle earthy coffee note. Crispy dry finish. Decent.

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras and drunk at home. Hazy russet amber colour lasting thick ivory head. Lots of coffee on the aroma, but like a fruity coffee. I mean what are you supposed to make of a coffee IPA? It’s fine. mouthfeel is good. Some hops on the finish. but the coffee on the aroma is not my favourite.
