Tap. Madama Beerstro, Bologna. Muddy looking, rusty red. Messy, blotchy, off white head. Nose has some oily citrus. Toffee malt. A little jammy. Taste is light sweet, with an oily, candied peel bitterness. Medium body. Light carbonation. Light bitterness to finish. Ok.

Tap at Il Ponto Bologna. Just way too deep this one, too much going on, sweetness and alcohol to tame the red ale within.

From 33cl bottle, expired 9/16. Pours dark red with abundant whitish foam and quite some residue. Aroma is citrus and herbaceous. Body is medium, with relatively low carbonation. Taste is bitter, significantly, with some slight sweetness. Finish is long and bitter.

Hand pump at Fass&Cask in Rome-Italy. Amber dark with orange highlights, creamy off white foam with caramel reflexes. Nose: resin, cara malts, a bit caramel. Mouth is better, soft malty notes in a clean body. Bitterness is low. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber colour, a hint of haziness, almost no carbonation. Slightly off-white head, very small despite a quite hard pour, shows good persistence though. Aroma has caramel malts, fruity hints and resinous/piney bitterness, quite bright. Taste has good balance of sweet and bitter notes with a slightly bitter finish, alcohol is quite detectable but not disturbingly so, brings a bit of warm. Caramel and slightly nutty malts, fruity notes (peach, mango), resinous/grassy bitterness in the finish. Overall taste is a little less fresh and vivid than the aroma suggested. Medium body, almost completely flat, oily and smooth. Ok

330 ml. bottle purchased @ “Vini Birre Ribelli 2015”. BBF 28/03/16. Drank @ home. Near clear dark amber, small but solid off-white head. Nose is weird herbal pine resin, dry odd herbs, dry biscuit, herbal kitchen spices, odd,… Taste us this weird very dry herbal kitchen spices hops, pine resin, light mold, weird biscuit dry bitterness, weirdly moldy bitter, caramel,… Weird very dry moldy body,… Too dry, too weird in the hop quality,… Harsh but I did get a bit into it after a while,… It has good point, someone who likes brutal hop onslaughts is bound to love this more than me.
