Hai mai preso un due di picche? Poi vedi tutto nero… hai l’amaro in bocca…
Note degustative: fruttato esotico, balsamico, torrefatto

Bottle, Domus Birrae, Roma. Shared with Slothez, Superbowl Session. Deep dark brown pour with a lingering tan head. Fragrant hoppy nose with some roasted malt notes. Flavour offered citrus, piney hop, chocolate, coffee and malt. Decent bitterness to close with. Solid, tasty Black IPA.

Light brown, bubbly head, grapefruit, orange, toasty malt...this is always compelling for me. Bitter, with rich chocolate malts, deep grapefruit and full of dark malts. Medium body at best but that helps it go down.

Opaque black - brown beer. Good pale tan head. Smooth palate with a little fine carbonation. Smooth dark malt with a touch of roast. Good piney hops with a little orange. Finishes semi dry with mild to medium bitterness. Smooth and drinkable black IPA.

Deutlich bitterer und grasig hopfiger Antrunk. Passende milde andere spürbare Süße, süffig. Die Hopfigkeit steigt, wenig fruchtig, ausbalanciert. Frisch grasig, noch einen Ticken hopfiger werdend. 9/11/11/12//12

Dark brown color, almost black, with medium sized compact head. Nice hoppy aroma, with a earthy background (manure and ammonia), some bread. Good body, dry mouthfeel, quite smooth; strong roasted malt

Bottle from GBBF 2013 and drunk at home. Black beer with lasting thick beige head. Enormously hoppy aroma. Not much roasted malt. The choc malt comes through more in the mouth. It’s very hoppy, some roast in the mouth. Softish on the finish. OK. More an IPA.

Draught Good cream-tan head over very deep-brown, ruby-shot, nearly black beer. Strong USA hops’ nose, piney, resiny, citruszeste on faintly roasted grains. Good balance between the roastiness of the malts and the aromatic bitterness of the hops. Blending, not clashing. Medium bodied at least, slick. Long roasted/burnt aftertaste. Interesting - but if I understand the Italian notion about the name, I’m glad I didn’t learn more.
