Bottle (Servus, Steffl !): Hazy, greenish-golden coloured, mid-sized lacy white head; sweet-grainy nose with a citrousy touch; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, a bit fizzy, light to medium bodied; fruity and slightly hoppy finish. A decent one............

(bottle, with kind permission of Quack-Duck) Hazy, pale golden colour with a fluffy white foam. Slightly sweet and yeasty malty nose with sour dough, a tinge of citrus and shy hoppy notes. Light-sweet flavour, slim bodied with a moderate carbonation and a well-matured mouthfeel. Slightly yeasty and minimal grainy taste; slightly bitter and yeasty, malty finish with a rather shy hops character. Slim and unspectacular, but also clean and easy-going Zwickel (16.07.08).

bottle. Hazy strawy yellow, large white and creamy head. Ful-bodied, biter-sweet: malty flavours on a hoppy background (hoppy and grassy). Very slightly yeasty and bready.

06/01 0.33 l green bottle from an Eurospar in Graz. My first Zwickl and I have quite high expectations... Murky pale yellow bodied this had medium bigger head. Weak aroma of some citrus, herbal with pale malt. Flavor is bitterish, somewhat sourish, but too watery. Very long and pleasant finish which might be the best about this beer. I’m not so excited about this one.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with heavy who brought it from Austria (thanks!) Pours a murky, juice like yellow colour with a medium to big sized white head. A weak nose again, just a touch of malt, a bit oily. A pleasant but slightly weak fruity malty taste, a touch agrumey. A fine but oh so weak chewy hop bitterness. Very drinkable and shows potential but too empty for my liking. Shame... if the taste was stronger, this would’ve been well into 3’s in my book.

Bottled (BB 10/2007)
Hazy yellow color, huge cloudy white head, lace. Light grassy and grainy aroma with wheaty notes. Medium-bodied. Nice malty backbone with late hoppy bitterness. Sweet notes and alcohol too. Solid zwickel.

Blasse Farbe, verhalten getreidiger Geruch. Test vom 14.4.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,9,10,9,11,9 - 9,05

Bottle, 5.4%. No aroma. Hazy yellow colour. Small white head. Slightly funky flavour, nicely yeasty. Pleasantly citric flavour. 3 months past BB date, probably better fresh.

An extremely light yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is very light - too light for my liking, but it does have faint notes of citrus and grass. The flavor is malty and grassy, with a very dry and bitter strawy end. A very crisp beer.
