On tap @ Beer Temple, taster size glass. Almost black color. Thick, rocky, sticky beige head, with good retention. Aroma’s:mocha, ground coffee, roasted (burnt) malts, light sweetness retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet, hard roasted, which gives it a light sourness. Medium bodied. Finishes with heavy roast, ash, moderate bitterness.

Draft @ beer temple. Body is a normal sweet stout, but the coffee is quite dominant in this beer. Like drinking a strong espresso. Has a bitter and slightly sour aftertaste, which is a bit unpleasant.

On tap @ Nakameguro Taproom. Nice beige head on a nice black body. It does smell like a cup of nicely roasted coffee. Taste does this beer a justice and there is nice roast, together with some coffee beans. Smooth mouthfeel and relatively thin body. Good beer, nice for slow sipping.

7% on tap at Bungalow. A dark midnight black pour with a thick creamy beige head. Strong roast coffee bean aroma, imagine you’re at a coffee roasters inhaling the intoxicating smell while waiting for a cup of joe - that’s what this beer evokes. Smooth creamy mouthfeel on a slightly thin body. The taste is your morning coffee with cream & two sugars. Roasty sweet milk coffee goodness. Up there with the best coffee stouts but more regular coffee than high end coffee. As you drink the glass though the sweetness becomes slightly cloying. All in all though a great beer considering I don’t like coffee but really find this beer well executed. Nicely done Baird!

Pours black with a light tan head.Nose shows old coffee and soft roasted malt. Little else.Very similar flavours; old coffee grounds and dry roasted malt. A little sweetness underneath shows up later.Body could be a bit thicker, feels a little weak at the moment.
