After the never ending battle between the hop heads and sour lovers we decided to appease the two. Using Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand and Citra from the Pacific North West this mixed fermentation brew is juicy, sour and extremely refreshing. Sour & hops in perfect, thirst quenching, melody!

Admin Note: Formerly known as Mash Up the Jam. Name change to Jam Up the Mash announced in August 2018 due another beer in the market with a similar name.

473ml can from Battle of Bull, Cheras, Malaysia. Poured a hazy golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is tropical citrus, passsionfruit, pineapple, grapefruit. The flavour is moderate sour, with a light, fresh, crisp, juicy, light tart, grapefruit citrus palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation.

This sour poured a hazy yellow colour with a creamy, white head. Nice lacing. Scents include eggs, cooked veggies and berry jam. First swig was quite sour. Nice mouthfeel, smooth and creamy... but sour! Flavours of light berries, candy and rhubarb. Finish is slightly sweet with medium hop bitterness lingering.

Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow, with minimal head. Aroma is pretty muted, to be honest. Some citrus, a touch of lactic acid, but not much happening there. Flavor is a slightly sour IPA, with citrus, some lactic acid, grass, maybe a touch of hops. Mouthfeel is pretty slight. I honestly don't quite know what to make of this...

473ml can – Pours a hazy pale yellow colour with a small white head that quickly settled to almost nothing. Aroma is fruity, oranges and a lot of passionfruit. A fruity sour and light acidic flavour, peach, pineapple and citrus with a tart citric finish.

10 May 2020. Rest Tasting with Anke & Pieter. Can from Gedeelde Vreugde. Pours clear yellow with a slowly thinning, off-white head. Aroma of gooseberry, lemon, unripe apple, hay, lime, apricot, white grape. Taste has sour gooseberry, lime, lemon, yeasty with a bready touch, a bit lactic & bitter hay-like. Fruity, tart finish, apricot & yellow fruit lingering but mostly quite earthy. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Very refreshing Sour.
