Ouderkerk’s Goud Pale Ale is gebrouwen naar Amerikaanse stijl, en daarmee iets hoppiger dan de Britse Pale Ale-stijl. Het bier is gebrouwen met 3 soorten Amerikaanse hop voor bitterheid en aroma. De belangrijkste gebruikte hopsoorten zijn Cascade en Centennial. Ondanks het gebruik van een flinke hoeveelheid hop is er een goede balans met het moutprofiel door toevoeging van extra cara-mouten en een flinke hoeveelheid Müncher. Dit bier past perfect bij gebakken of gegrild rood vlees; een ‘bier voor bij de biefstuk’!

Gedronken tijdens het Nederlands Speciaalbier Festival in den Bosch. Amberkleurig troebel bier met stevig schuim. Aroma van mout en gist. De smaak is fruitig en iets kruidig. Nasmaak is licht bitter.

Geprobeerd met LiekevdV, Inoven en Roelzie op het Nederlands Speciaalbier Festival 2023 in den Bosch. Het is een troebel roodbruin bier met een volle beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van hop en fruit. De smaak is fris zuur, fruitig en hoppig.

Bottle at ACBF’16 with Borresteijn, Kermis, Zlotta & the Queen of Whales. Hazy amber color. Off white head, rather short retention. Aroma’s: caramel malts, some hops. More hop retronasal, flowery, light caramel. Flavor is moderate bitter with light caramel malty sweetness. Light bodied. Mild bitter finish. Quite nice.

Bottle sample at ACBF’16. Slightly hazy golden amber colour, white head. Aroma is floral, light hoppy, malty, citrus, a bit English. Flavour follows, nettles, resin, citrus in the light bitter finish. Light bodied. OK.

Draft at Amsterdam Craft Beer Festival. Hazy amber with a small off white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, cardboard and light fruits. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

0.33 l bottle from ’Slagerij De Ridder’ (Ouderkerk), bottled in November 2015. Clear, reddish amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Faint, sweetish, fruity-resiny aroma of wood berries, orange and pine. Slightly bitter, fruity-resiny taste of orange, pine and some wood berries, followed by a short, medium bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not really a flavour bomb, quite okay though.
