By using three instead of two hop varieties to brew, we obtain additional hop aromas and an increased bitterness. The typical Duvel palate is enriched with HBC 291 hops from the Yakima Valley providing fresh notes of citrus, black pepper, lavender and roses. HBC 291 hops are added again during ’dry-hopping’, extracting additional hop aromas into the beer. The higher aromatic intensity rounds out the beer, backing the final alcohol content of 9.5%.

Backlog August 2016. Clear pale golden body under a big, fluffy white head. Aroma has pale malt, grass, pepper, slightly spicy and some fruit. Taste quiet nice, sweet but not much impact from the hops compared with the original version as I prefer in this case.

In my opinion, it is a nice product, a good wedding between the USA and Belgium, good bitterness more dry than the last edition. 26.04.17, buying it at the monoprix, Paris, Faubourg, St-Antoine. The Duvel Ipa are much better than the leffe version.

*Rating overgezet 2016* Het is een troebel bleekgeel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige, gistachtige en hoppige geur. De smaak is citrus achtig en bloemig met een hoppige afdronk.

(Bottle) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with frothy white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with peaches, orange, honey and elderflowers. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of peaches, citrus, orange, honey, green apples, earthy yeast and a gentle citric, floral bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Elegant and complex, well made as usual. Very nice.

Bottle from Booths Supermarket, Media City. Light golden with a head. It is hoppy as you would expect, but a little bland in taste with a modicum of fruit available here. Its strength is very evident in its nose.

Bottle. Note: expiry 06 2018. Golden, medium head, super caramel nose with clean citrus hints. Flavor is predominantly Duvel caramel, very crisp smooth bitterness at the finish with Mandarin peel, great carbonation.

Bottle at Hiranoya. Pleasantly soapy aroma, lots of citrus sharpnes. Taste is good, sweetness, some floral elements, bit of cherry! Good stuff.
