From 50cl bottle. Pours a beautiful brilliant brown with a foamy dirt white head, eventually disappearing. Aroma is a nice mix of malty and smoked, but also figs and cherries. Body is average, with average carbonation. Taste is sweet to some extent, very low bitterness. Finish is relatively long, but not that great, as the beer warms up.

Bottle (from Koht, BB 11/2017). Pours copper with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is smoke, suasages, salt, malt, wheat. Flavor is sweet and bitter, smoke, wheat, sausages, fruits, banana. Finish is sweet wheat and smoke. Balance is excellent. Overall: great beer, 4.3 feels like underrate...

Pours murky brown with a frothy white head. Aroma is quite smokey, but the more traditional Weizen aromas form an undertone with both bready & banana hints. Taste is banana sweet with lots of smoke, a bit of salami, but its the smoked character that sets the tone, and the faint bitterness comes off with a charred note. In the end it’s more of a smoked beer than Weizen. Body is medium to full with average carbonation. A pleasant diversion, with the same intense smoked flavors that I’ve come to expect from this brewery.

Bottle from Liquor Barn shared. Pours a deep brown with a small head that dissipates quickly. Huge cured ham with some flaming banana as it warms up. Light mouthfeel but lots of rich honey ham and smoked sausage. Touch of char. Finish leaves a lingering lightly charred honey, smoked sausage note. Dark amber to light brown. Average head, ok persistence, not much lacing. Aroma is ’softly/yeastly’ smoked (wood, smoked ham), along with strong banana and slight spiciness. In the taste: caramel, banana, slight spiciness (clove). Smoked notes are less strong than in the aroma and they’re showing up mostly in the finish/aftertaste. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation (pretty low for a weizen). Ok, maybe a bit forced of a pairing, lacking both in weizens drinkability/refreshing feel and in the ’full’ feel of their smoked lagers. Edit january 2024: A few additions to previous description. Unattractive, murky dark amber to light brown. Aroma feels quite full, nice. Not so much in taste: a lot of sweetness, along with some strange kind of sourness that feels a bit off-path. Smoked notes much lighter in taste than in the aroma, showing up mostly in the aftertaste. Still not my cup of tea.
