Smoked sausages. Smoked Bavarian cheese. Crispy bacon. Soft malts. One of my favourites.

Proper Dunkelweizen appearance. Aroma is ham smoke, but it feels fresh. Taste is smoked ham, spicyness. No bananas, and the mouthfeel is a bit too watery for a Weizen, but I love it. EDIT: If it’s not the first Smoked tick of the day, the bananas are very present! Milky yeasts, bananas, smoked ham, nice balance. Still a great beer.

Botella 50 cl en el lupulo tomada en marzo 2014. Fcpref 06..2014. Lote LQJ. Aromas y sabores maltosos y algo ahumados. Bastante bien.

Bottles from Cork & Cask and Great Grog. Hazy amber/brown body with a thick beige head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of copper, ham, wood and smoked cheese. Flavour of smoked ham, Dr Pepper, white pepper, copper penny and chestnut. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Tangy and savoury. An interesting beer but, for me, it’s not as drinkable as this brewery’s finest.

Bottle at De Paas. Pours hazy amber with a medium off white head. Aroma of smoked ham, bacon crisps, burnt bacon and weizen aspects clear behind. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

500ml bottle. Pours deep amber with a minimal head. Aroma is confused, smoked, cheesy with wheat notes, lemon. Flavour is medium sweet with a little bitter end, smoked notes on the aftertaste. Medium body, medium carbonation. Disappointed.

500ml bottle into Weizen glass. Pours with an enormous head that may take many months to settle. Aroma is lightly smoked bbq meat with a malt background. Smells great! Opaque dark brown beer with still towering head. Taste and body are surprisingly light. Finish is sour and smoky, lots of umami. It really does taste like a cross between a Hefe and a Rauchbier. Unusual but not as brilliant as its big brother.
