Bottle. Nose is light smoke, sweet banana, cheese, hints of bubblegum; it’s very disjointed. Taste is less smokey then the nose; light smoke (relative to other Heller beers at least) leading to a very pronounced banana, and banana and cream, bubblegum and cloves taste slight sour. There is a very pleasant bonfire night aftertaste. The mouth feel is weizen thick. I don’t love this is as much as the dopplebock, primarily because that is a more balanced beer, but this is nice and more than a novelty.

Hatalmas, tartós hab, barna szín. Illata intenzíven füstös, ami minden mást elnyom. Szánkba robbanó, erőteljes füstös ízzel indít, ami mellé rögtön felzárkózik a maláták aromája. Mellettük másnak nincs esélye, a banános észterek sem érvényesülnek igazán, de ez így van jól. Kiváló és szokatlan ízkombináció, de egyben rendkívül friss és üdítő ital. Utóíze hosszan kitartó füstös, malátás. Közepesen testes.

Bottle 0.5l. Hazy, deep copper to brown colored. AROMA- pleasant wood and smoke tones. FLAVOR- slightly sour, very smooth, smoke, subtle weizen character. Medium bodied.

Bottle. A- Ham, subtle smoke. A- Dark brown color, murky liquid, tan head. T- Ham brine, subtle smoke, wheat. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- Not near as smokey as some of the other Rauchbiers I’ve had from them but still tasty. Subtle on the smoke and umami, overall, but there is a nice ham brine that lingers throughout.

Sehr dunkel im Glas, leicht brockig, Achaum kippt sofort weg, sehr feinporig. In der Nase eine feine Schinken-Salami-Platte. Im Trunk davon nur leicht, leicht süß, im Abgang kommt dann das Rauchmalz deutlicher zur Geltung - da will man gleich ne zünftige Vesper. Lecker!

500 ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Murky dark copper color with beige head. Malty and yeasty aroma, smoked, wood, bacon, light fruity. Sweet and light bitter taste like aroma but more fruity, banana and bacon. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

500ml bottle at the St Neots ’Booze on the Ouse’ Beer Festival 2016. Mid- to dark brown, hazy. No head but quite a lot of fizzy carbonation. Oaky aroma with stone fruit. Taste is sweet and malty, and the wheat holds the smoke incredibly well. Starts out OK but just gets better and better. Full lip-smacking body. Excellent.

Bottle. Dark brown colour, cloudy, rocky head, not as big as usually seen in hefe-weizen. Aroma is intensive, but not aggressive, smoke like bonfire wood, quite much banana, dough. Light bitterness. Not harsh, interesting combination. Very good.
