This beer has a rich and complex malt flavor balance with a bit of spicy noble hops. The peach is very subtle but noticeable, with a dry finish from the champagne yeast in the 2nd fermentation in the French Chardonnay barrels.

Tap - hazy gold with a soapy lace - nose is funky peach skin, light oak and a fair amount of Chardonay character - flavor is subtle, with very well-masked alcohol, making it pretty dangerous - there is some warmth in the finish, but this is very light - surprisingly dry, with the white wine and oak being most prominent - the peach character is present, but subtle, adding a mild sweetness and a touch of earthy fruit skin - finish is pretty much all subtle oak and Chardonay - I like it.

Draft - Peaches, raw oak and sweet yeast. Clear gold with a thin white head. Boozy, sweet Belgian yeast with peaches prominent. Boozy and estery as with Belgians, which I am not a huge fan of.

A lightly hazed blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light peaches, grassy character. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with peach pulp, peach schnapps, loads of alcohol, rather brainless and unbalanced. Was expecting more. On tap at Aces and Ales tenaya.

Bottle at BBF2013 shared with a few of the other punters. Another strange one this. Aroma is peach and wine. Murky golden colour. Flavour is fruit and alco, wood and yeast. Sparkly texture.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; Release 9, bottled on 1/6/2012. Pours hazy golden amber color with a 1 finger foamy white head with decent retention, that reduces to a ring of lacing. Light foamy lacing clings on the glass, with moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of peach, pear, apple, orange, clove, candi sugar, pepper, oak, white wine, floral, bread, and yeast earthiness. Slight phenolic note that goes away as it warms. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy esters with peach and wine barrel notes; with good strength. Taste of peach, pear, apple, orange, clove, candi sugar, light pepper, oak, white wine, floral, bread, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of peach, light fruits, clove, candi sugar, light pepper, oak, white wine, bread, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast esters with peach and barrel flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a slick and moderately syrupy mouthfeel that is good. Alcoohl is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice fruit Belgian strong pale ale. Good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy esters with the peach and wine barrel flavors; and quite smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.
