Originally a collab with our friends at Electric Nurse, this is a deliciously sticky, fruity and bold beer. that drinks easy for its strength. It boasts chewy toffee and date-notes with a spicy edge that is subtly reminiscent of Swedish gingerbread.

Appearance: Hazy amber-brown color. Medium, white head.
Taste: Medium sweet, medium bitter, harsh grassy hoppy, dried fruits, light alcohol.
Palate: Medium-full body. Light sticky texture. Warm, bitter finish.
Overall: Good. Warm. Dried fruits.
Aroma: Dried fruits, alcohol, sweet, raisins.

Flaska från SB. Bärnstensfärgad, disig med ganska mycket sediment, lågt skum. Doft av jäst, mycket engelsk jäst med brödig och lite murrig karaktär. Jämte det söta dofter av marmelad och honung. Smaker liknar doften med mycket (för mycket) jästkaraktär men också rejält med citrushumle med bra tryck på beskan som skapar bra balans och ger jästen en match. Sammantaget helt okej utan att imponera.

Bottle. Nose is barley, toffee, apples, booze, almonds,hint of caramel, hazelnut, herbal hops; very pleasant. Taste is malty, pronounced booze, toffee, vodka, herbal hops, toffee apple, dark fruit, earthy, hint of cherry, waft of orange peel, and a pronounced citrus peel note in the finish alongside more booze. Mouthfeel is slick. A modern US influenced barley wine, which is so heavily hoped as to feel like some of the maltier DIPA. It has a lovely nose, but like many of the newer bw it doesn’t really integrate the alcohol well into the drink, giving it an awkward vodka note, which as the drink opened up became ever more dominant, much to the detriment of the taste.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; clear copper pour with a frothy beige head, aroma has sweet toffee, a hint of apple and some robust malts, taste has light caramel, strong citrus action, quite boozy, but nice.

Bottle at Stuu’s. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of marmalade, demerara sugary, faint almonds. Taste is sweet, boozy, more oranges. Surprisingly crisp finish. Good stuff.

Flaska från SB. Kopparröd färg med halv centimeter högt skum. Knuten doft med inslag av russin. Smaken vecklas ut i lager. Första lagret består av russin och fikon. Det andra av karamell och kola. Slutligen lite fänkol och kaffe.
