Bottle from Little Leeds Beer House in the Corn Exchange, consumed at home Sunday 6th November 2016 whilst cooking a big Mexican meal. Pours gold a little hazy, with a huge foamy white head. Nice beer, hoppy and yet with a balanced sweetness. Soft in the mouth, silky but there is a nice sweet streaky lemonyness throughout. Dry finish, really good, still got a nice freshness and on the basis that this is Ego War 1 and we’re now on 3 this is probably 3-4 months old at a guess I should imagine. Hoppy burps aplenty and that is always a good sign. A7 A5 T7 P4 Ov14 3.7

Hazy gold beer, big pale cream colour head. Piney citric nose. Palate is light and mildly dry. Nice light minerally crispness. Light malts, thin and modestly sweet, Good orangey hops, orange peel and bitterish grapefruit. Malt cream develops underneath. Pine comes in before a light dry bitterish finish. An assured brew!

Bottle at home in London - sourced from the Hop Locker, Waterloo. Pours unclear orange-gold with a frothy, white head. Assertive hops in the aroma, some orange rind, grass, pine, grapefruit pith. Light to medium sweet flavour with sturdy grassy bitterness, touches of dry pale bread, more pithy citrus, bitter rind. Light to medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Finishes with further grassy and rindy bitterness, fresh citrus fruits, grapefruit, tangerine, just a hint of alcohol. Solid IPA on the whole.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy bronze body with a thin white head that fades. Lively fizz. Very faint lacing. Aroma of orange pith, hay and menthol. Flavour of clementine, minerals, grape skin and pear drops. Thin body with an oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. Surprisingly thin, and lacks the expected hop punch.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Very hazy gold. Thin, messy, sticky, white head. Nose has minty, toffee malts. Pungent, pissy citra. Notes of ripe melon. Some candied peel. Taste is citrusy, oily bitter. Some minty sweetness. Ripe, rich mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Finish is long, ripe, citrusy bitter. Big IPA. Tasty as you like, but a little rich and sweet for me. Could easy manage another, mind.
