3 Fonteinen Oude Kriek is the result of macerating hand-picked whole sour cherries on young lambic for at least four months, in a proportion of one kilogram of fruit per litre of lambic. The kriek lambic is then blended again with more young lambic to obtain a minimum intensity of 35% fruit, and is bottled immediately afterwards. These bottles are then stored in our cellars for at least five months so that the kriek lambic can develop into a beautiful, traditional, and refined Oude Kriek. With a pleasant tartness and organic notes of almond and cinnamon as it warms in the glass, 3 Fonteinen Oude Kriek, will age perfectly but may lose some of the vibrant red colours and forest fruit aromas. This unfiltered and unpasteurised lambic is all-natural with no artificial juices, syrups, or sugars added. Traditional Lambic is living, cultural heritage rooted in the Zenne valley!

Rerate from a 2019 (18/19) bottle at New Years eve. Bright sour cherries, tart on the palate, light wood and barn. Nice dry and sparkly. A classic.

Drunk while watching a plastic bin fire in front of HopDog on New Year's. Thanks Jonas, for the bottle I mean. Nice red color, sour cherries nose, flavor is mild tire fire with great full and natural sour cherry notes. Definitely going to punch your taste buds but not quite like a recycling bin fire, nor as acidic as a Cantillon.

On tap. Dark red, no head. Tart fruity aroma with intense sour cherries aroma. Lemons and oaked notes. Some sweetness lurking. A bit of noble rot. The taste is sour. Medium body. Lasting drying finish with tart fruity notes. Excellent. Dry.

Bottle at home in Hackney - pretty sure I got this from 3F online. Bottled in 2017. Faintly cloudy red-pink with a small, foamy white head. Lightly sweet, fairly dry, a little earthy, some leathery and tart cherries, decent acidity, a little earth and wood. Tart and quenching finish but not overbearing, more tangy cherries, a little zippy lemon. Great stuff.

375ml corked and caged green bottle. 6.8% abv. (Blend no. 35, season 19/20). Pours a cloudy dark ruby red with a thin, fizzy, short lived, pink head that fully dissipates. Aroma of pale malt, cherry, red wine, funky yeast, oak and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of pale malt, cherry, lemon, vinegar, oak and floral hops in a dry, acidic, sour finish. Medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Lots of complexity. Excellent.

Honey balances a lot of the cherry acidity. Addictive funk as always. Intense cherry notes all over.

Bottle from a trade. Thanks Matt! Pours a mostly clear ruby with light orange, amber highlights and a small head that dissipates quickly. Lovely notes of cherry skin, stone and tart cherry flesh with oak, must and cobwebs all present. Rich tart cherry notes on the palate with lingering fruit flesh and skin notes. Drying finish. Stellar.
