Clear brown beer, no real head. Nice depth of malt, not quite barleywine territory but getting there. Trace of hops. Mild carbonation. Quaffable malt led beer.

Bottle at the Mikkeller bar Copenhagen. It's nice when you smell a beer and it's that impressive that you need to put it down right away. The aroma is something special. A little on the sweet side with a caramel aftertaste. A really awesome beer and nothing like any Scottish ale I've ever tasted. Will drink again! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared at Mikkeller bar. Pours dark brown with a small off white head. Aroma is massive caramel, toffee, toasty sweet malt, chocolate and nuts. Flavour is medium sweet and light bitter, big on the toffee with a nutty background. Full bodied with moderate carbonation.

Had a full pint of this from the draft at the brewery. Poured a clear ruby color with a slightly off-white head. Aroma was toasted malts, with a slight sweet caramel note. Touch of bitterness, but overall a pretty crisp and enjoyable brew. This is pretty darn tasty.

Location: 12 oz bottle from jcos, 3/14/12
Aroma: The nose has lots of sweet malts, caramel, roast, chocolate, yeast, and bread
Appearance: This one pours a brown color with some hints of red, and a small white head
Flavor: Tastes fairly sweet, there's a good amount of malt complexity, the bitterness is non-existent
Palate: The body is medium, the mouthfeel is a little sticky, average carbonation, and a roasty finish
Overall Impression: This beer is really freaking malty. It is rather sweet without really any bitterness for balance. This wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't my favorite Three Floyds brew.

Draught @ Mikkeller Bar, during 3Floyds Night 2011.Finally an elusive Scottish ale, my last beer style ! Amber colored with a medium creamy head that quickly disappears. Aroma is fruity hoppy, and less caramel malts yet the flavor is mostly sweet malt based and the hops are in teh background. Nice one though and quite enjoyable.

On tap at the Brewpub, October 21, 2011. Pours a reddish copper color with a medium slightly tan head. Really a lot of malt both in the aroma and taste. Also a lot of caramel, some notes of smoke, chocolate, roasted malt. Nice beer!

Bottle. Malt, fruit, chocolate aroma. Clear brown with a small, quickly dissipating head. Flavor is full on malt, a little molasses and dark fruit. Smooth medium body. Nice.
