White Hart. Keg. Hazy dark amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy and crisp. Dark malts are conspicuous by their near absence! Nice marmalade and a little bitterness. Mild thin malt cream and mellow hop spice. Finishes semi dry. Curious, really much closer to being an Amber beer.

Keg at the braupub. It pours near black with a small beige head. The nose is smooth, bitter-sweet, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and coffee. The taste is smooth, roasty, earth, coffee, toffee, toasty, charcoal, pepper and burnt toast with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Solid coffee porter by all accords.

Keg at the White Hart - London. Pours mostly clear brown with a creamy tan head. The nose holds robust yet understated, well toasted coffee with accents of burnt toast. Light-medium sweet with some burnt sugars, charred wholegrain toast, bitter over-brewed coffee, mild chalky cocoa. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Drying finish with more rich, bittersweet coffee, espresso, baking cocoa, roasted malts can burnt grains, bitter earth. Quite rich overall. Lingering bitter coffee flavor in the mouth. Solid.

Keg at the brewpub. Opaque dark brown coloured pour with a thin fleeting light tan head. Aroma is big nutty coffee, creme caramel, amaretto biscuit and some sweet praline. Flavour is big dry nutty roast coffee with some earthy notes, little impression of sweetness from the praline flavour, but the finish is very dry. Palate is medium light bodied, chalky on the tongue with spritzy carbonation. Long lingering coffee roast. Punchy flavours for the abv.
