Cask @ Salopian Bar, Shrewsbury [280115]
Light golden, thin white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft citrus, bit herbal, light pale malts, soft zest, fairly hoppy
Taste - Getting more herbal hops, some dry citrus zest, light pale malts let the hops fully through, touch fruity, I’m just not sure about this hop...hmmm
Palate - Light body, a bit oily, soft sweet. Finish as main flavour, cleans off palate, soft bitter, touch grassy. Gets more bitter with the drinking.
Overall - Not as good as original Hophead, and I’m not as keen on the hop

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 19 Feb 2015) Golden colour with foamy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, resin, tropical fruit and biscuity malt. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, resin, tropical fruit, biscuits and a generous floral bitterness in the finish. Light body, quite dry. On the thin side, but fresh and tasty. Nice one.

Gravity cask at the Elysian Winter Beer Festival, Ely, 2015. Yellow, clear, not a lot of head. Pineapple, mango and banana aroma. A hint of pine resin. Bitter and fruity taste. Surprisingly dry finish and bitter aftertaste. Incredibly good, better than the original Hophead, but just.

Cask at the CP&K, 16/01/15. Clear golden with a decent white cap that retains well. Nose is biscuit, orange, straw, lemon rind, faint tropical notes. Taste comprises tangerine, grassy vibes, pale malt, lemon rind, melon. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, subtle hop presence and a grassy bitter linger in the close. Ok sessioner but doesn’t come close to the original.

Cask at CASK. It pours clear golden with small white head. The nose is fresh, juicy, grassy meadow, piney, daisy and buttercup. The taste is crisp, bitter, grapefruit rind, grassy, floral and straw with a lingering bitter finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Crisp and crushable. Sessioner.com. Very nice version of this!
