Bottle at the Hare and Billet, Blackheath. Hazy amber pour with a white head. Funky sour nose of gooseberry and baked apple. More gooseberry in the flavour a spot of coriander in there too. Has a taste and feel of Olde ™ ® © England about it. Good stuff.

Bottle at Hare and Billet, Blackheath, London - fuzzy golden coloured pour with white head. Aroma and taste is medium sour fruity and wheaty, light vinegar notes, some pleasing and interesting gooseberry and thyme prominence going on here, light malt, yeasty, acidic into a tart fruity finish. Very nice!

Tap. Devonshire Cat, Sheffield. Hazy gold. Film of sticky, white head. Lots of gooseberry. Red, for me, maybe. Has a sweetness. Lots of lime. Really get the lemon thyme. Very juicy. A bit earthy. A bit tart. Taste is tart, dry, light sweet. Lightly acidic mouthfeel. Uber clean. Crisp, fruity, and earthy. Lovely. Super drinkable. The thyme in this is a fantastic touch.

Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - amber with a thin head which disappears quickly. Nose - salt and citrus. Taste - gooseberry and salt. A little apple sauce. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long tangy salty finish. Overall - a lot of gose style going on. So in that respect an improvement.

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours golden amber, light haze, thin white head. Sour funk aromas, straw, lemon, thyme. Taste is sour, close to lip-puckering sour. Lots of thyme. Herbal finish.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo. It pours hazy orange-amber with a medium white head. The nose is earthy, dough, grainy, wood, cereal, barnyard and light herbal notes. The taste is crisp, tart, light vinegar, lemon rind, gooseberry, white currant, mouth-pucker and light herbal action with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. All-round works pretty well, but the light vinegar detracts from the overall experience. Decent anyhow.

Bottle from Brewer’s Droop, Bristol. Cloudy gold, with a small, but tight, white head. Tart aroma of lemon and gooseberry, with a yeasty edge and hint of grassy hop. Sharp in the mouth, with plenty more fruit, momentary sweetness and then a lingering, dry, finish. Enjoyable.

Very hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, midly airy and dry. Flavour is an attention grabbing combo of tart gooseberry, salt, sherbet and floral - herby sweetness. Light crisp sour finish. Comes together very nicely. Necked this.
