Deep, reddish-brown, with a slight, off-white, head. Brown sugar, red berry and earthy malt aroma. Flavour was similar sweet, with some rich maltiness, chocolate, a hint of rast, more fruits and a moderately bitter finish. After an evening of hoppy M&S beers, this was a good contrast with which to finish.

Bottle from M&S Reading. Brownish-amber with a thick cream head. Lovely mouthfeel- creamy with a fluffy fizz. Malty throughout, with hints of bourbon biscuit, spice and berries. A little twig in the finish but it’s a nice twig and stops well short of being a whole branch. Really though this beer is all about the malt. Great malt, great beer!

Bottle at home. Nice dark red/brown color with bubbly off white head. Caramel, light cocoa, spicy rye, quite some roasted almonds. Nice spicy malts are the biggest thing here with soft curry and herbs in the finish. Medium sweet. Medium bodied with the full feel of rye. Quite nice.

Bottle from Watford M&S. Clear deep copper / reddy coloured pour with a lasting rocky creamy head. Aroma is sweet rye bread, malt loaf, hint of choc. Lately a little soapy on the nose. Palate is medium full and creamy, mineral and moderate to high carbonation. Nice and velvety. Flavour is nice rye bread, grainy, light dried fruits, haxelnut, mineral. Tasty malty beer.

Crystal clear deep red - amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and smooth with good minerally carbonation. Malts bring a little creamy sweetness and dark toffee. Light rye spice. Marmalade and a trace of fresher orange. Light spicy finish. Clean and pretty well integrated.

33cl bottle from M&S Wokingham. Deep golden amber colour with a thin cream head; spicy rye aroma; caramel taste with grainy body; and a fresh herbal bitterness. A satisfying rye IPA.

Clear, copper colour. Messy, sticky, off white head. Fruity malts. Bit of fruit cake. Spicy hop. Some caramel. Drinks spicy. Soft sweet. Light bitter. Clean palate. Spicy dry finish, with a nice level of bitterness stopping things getti g too sweet, or spicy. Didn’t expect to like this too much. That was me wrong...
