Skye Brewery’s head brewster has come up with an imaginative blend of Maris Otter and Crystal malts, dark caramalt and torrified wheat, all working in harmony with Sorachi Ace hops, one of the rarest. A clean golden bitter ale with an underlying biscuit flavour and zesty zingy citric aroma and aftertaste.

Hops: Sorachi Ace
Malts: Maris Otter, Crystal Malts & Dark Caramalt

Amber pour with stable head. Pleasant aroma of hops, malts and some fruit. Tastes of tropical fruit mixed with hops. Quit crisp with medium carbonisation - a really nice IPA.

Bottle shared as part of a delivery from the brewery. Brownish gold and clear with a ring of white head and some lacing. Soap & grass in the scent with some herbal character. Definitely Sorachi Ace and a bit weird. Sweet taste, more herbal notes with that dill-like Sorachi character. Some astringency on the long finish. Light to medium body, very heavily carbonated. Grows on me.

330ml bottle from the brewery. Poured a clear medium amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is grainy malt, buttery oaky, woody hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, crisp, light floral, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

330ml bottle. Clear golden with a decent white head. Aroma is pine and citrus. Flavour is... more pine and a fruit flavour that I can't place, but one I don't like. Disappointing

Cask at Sutherland Inn. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Excellent lacing. Floral aroma with hints of grass and peach. Flavour of lemon, toffee and grassy hops. Sharp bitterness. Medium body with an oily texture. Light carbonation prickle. Refreshing, lemony and moreish.
