Keg at the hanging bat. Pours clear amber, thin white head. Aroma is briney, smoky, light caramel. Taste has more smoke, light sweetness. Zingy smoke finish. Not bad.

Old Fountain. Keg. Hazy amber beer, small white head. Palate is crispy and semi dry. A minerally carbonated bite. Light malt with a touch of dry cream. Mellow smoke and dried fruits. Crispy dry finish. The palate keeps this one drinkable.

Cask at Craft Brighton, Saturday 8th March 2014 Pours mid amber with small white head. The smokiness is subtle, a little soft in mouth, a bit of toffee, smoke in the mouth. A little gassy hoppy burp, ok I guess. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Keg at the Finborough Arms. It pours deep amber with a small beige head. The nose is earthy, toast, smoke, caramel, spice, earth and brown bread. The taste is caramel, bread, light smoke, metallic, earth and light bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and high carbonation. Fairly straight-forward and uneventful stuff. So-so.

On tap at The Earl of Essex Islington. I mean it’s served too cold. Some ashtray on the aroma. Some fruit in the mouth. Ok smoked beer served with way too much carbonation
