Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol, March 2014. Deep amber with a frothy, off-white head. Sugary sweet, with plenty of caramel and berry fruits, before a gentle finish. One dimensional.

Cask at The White Lady. Pours clear dark gold (not amber, too light) thin white head. Aromas of toffee and dried fruit. Kinda falls away after that. Not much else going on. Standard.

Cask at the Bear (JDW), maidenhead. Light amber with a tight white head; fragrant malty aroma; sweet, perfumed and syrupy in the mouth with a well balanced bitterness, and a very dry finish - but it’s not red.

Crosse Keys Spoons. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and semi dry with mild fine carbonation. Sweetish malts, floral tones and light candy fruits. Tangy fruits emerge before a light dry finish that brings a little balancing bitterness. All Right!

Cask at George Croydon. It pours clear amber with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, straw, sponge cake and sugar. The taste is sweet toffee, red berry, white sugar, sponge cake and candy with dull toast in the finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Far too sweet for the likes of me. Pretty 1D also. Meh.
