Keg at the Hanging Bat. Ruby, aroma of caramel and burnt toffee, taste is dry and smoky, light fruit, toffee, bit cold, much more flavour comes through as it warms.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s. London Bimble. It pours hazy dark red with a small beige head. The nose is dark red fruit, wood, earth, pine, resin and jammy fruits. The taste is bitter-sweet, earthy, resin, wood, leather, jam, chewy malt a good hit of bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. All comes together rather well. Decent.

Keg at Redchurch. Pours clear, deep amber with a thick, cream white head. Nicely rounded aroma with notes of pine, ripe orange, spicy rye, grainy bread. Medium sweet flavor with lots of sticky hops, some further juicy pine, orange, mild rind and grass bitterness, wholegrain bread. Medium bodied with fine to average, creamy carbonation. Nice and resinous to finish with toasted grains, earthy rye notes, mild flinty minerals, juicy citrus, lasting pine, hints of mango and papaya. Good and fresh. Well joined up. Great example of this style.
