Bottle at home, 10/06/13, from Johns Marketplace PDX. Pours an opaque dark chestnut brown with dark amber hues in the light, thinnish off white head. Nose is dark fruits, light spice, rich caramel, oaky/woody notes, bourbon, dark malts. Taste comprises brown sugars, bourbon dosed wood, dark fruits, dates, prunes, booze. Full bodied, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the finish. A fairly complex number, well balanced, nothing too over bearing the alcohol whilst present is well integrated.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a brown color with a small foamy white head that lingered and left a decent amount of lacing. The aroma was boozy tropical fruits, pine and table sugar. The flavor was bitter, tart and sour pine, lemon, tropical fruits, bourbon, coconut, plum and oak. Medium length finish of oak, pine, tropical fruits and coconut. Moderately full bodied and almost syrupy. Nice.

Bottle @Bruce’s. It pours deep amber-brown with a small off-white head. The nose is wood, over-ripe fruit, raisin, faint tang, honey, maple syrup and toffee apple. The taste is wood, maple, toffee apple, some alcohol, vinous, pear, earth and light balsamic vinegar. Moderate carbonation and fine carbonation. Pretty big, but still pretty interesting and tasty stuff.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a hazy reddish amber with a tiny beige head. Amazing thick oak aroma, caramellish with a tart edge. Rich body, soft carbonation, thick caramel and again massive oak with a distinctly tart edge. Warming alcohol finish. Quite complex and enjoyable. 040413

Bottle at Bruce’s, London - big thanks to the host! Pours cleanish, golden-brown with a light, beige cream head. Boozy, ripe fruits in the nose, peach, strawberry, light sweat. Big sweet flavor, ripe fruits, some prunes, sweat, light funk. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, lots more ripe fruits, a bit of heat, some white birch wood. Nice stuff, heavy and depthy.

Bottle [from trade with Boltz7555, thank you sir!] shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy amber color with a medium sized off-white to light beige head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma has malts, some sweet-sourish hints and lightly alcohol. Taste malts, some fruits like cherries and red berries, sweet-sourish, alcohol, slight bitter hint towards the end with a touch of fruitpeel. Full body, full carbonation.
