Bottle from M&S, Manchester. Very dark brown with a thin head. Includes some lovely smooth dark malts, although not high in any notable flavours, but a light sweetness.

330ml bottle from M&S Edinburgh. Pours clear dark red-brown, short-lived beige head. Aromas of burnt sugar, light herbs, light metallic note and yeasty zing. Taste is more sugar and herbs. Thin on the palate and a sweet finish. OK.

Bottle. Nose is cola bread yeast, some dark fruit. Taste is cola, some licorice, red berries. Taste fades on the mouth quickly and leaves a slight candy sugar/molasses cola finish. Mouthfeel is too thin for the style and too carbonated. Another baffling choice of beer from M&S. De Bocq who brew this make some fine beers, but this is awful. It’s too sweet. It can only be of interest to folk who have no access to other Belgian browns..

33cl bottle. Deep magohany with a billowing cream head; typical Belgian yeast aroma; soft in the mouth with some very sweet, chocolaty malts; and a rather cloying finish with a slight yeasty prickle and some gentle hops. Pretty standard stuff.

Bottle from M&S. Deep mahogany clear colour massive beige head. Belgian estery yeast and choc malt aroma. The blond I thought was better. This is very simple no huge character. yes its decent and drinkable with no adverse flavours its just that its plain and straight up. fine

Bottle from m&s Euston. Nice floral hop aroma Belgian phenols and a touch of candy apple. Carmel brown colour. Clear with a whisky cream fine head. Flavour is slightly disappointing. Touch of cardboard, chic and fruity yeast esters. Fine carbonation. Crisp hop finish.

Bottle from M&S at RMD station drank on the 18.36 train to SNG, 30/03/13. Almost clear dark chestnut brown with a good sized biege head. Nose carries toffee notes, Belgian yeast, brown sugars, light spice. Taste comprises toffee, Belgian yeast, brown sugars, nutty, touch of spice. Medium bodied, dryish in the finish. Ok drinkable stuff but nothing I’d particularly care to revisit unless there was nothing else !

330ml bottle from M+S Eltham, SE London - Pours dark brown in colour with a small thin head. Mix of dark fruits stong yeast and malt character but agree with others that the carbonation was far to much and really ruined it for me, couldn’t finish the bottle.
